how much importance do you attach to the colour of you leader material? I use clear or subsurface green , I tried ice blue but didnt like it, I dont use Maxima but thats because I had a bad experience with it, not sure about the colour of that but it was a knot problem I had, just what do you think of colour ? caboc mhor

Clear Maxima for me. I'm confident using it, but I do wonder if colour plays any part in trout fishing?
When sea fishing, my main line is red, shock leader orange and hook lengths black.

Aye, me too Davy. Clear or green would both be ok for me though. I have had a few breakages (on the strike, on the dropper) when using flooeroscotland.

I use maxima chameleon in darker peaty lochs and ultragreen in clearer water.

I dont think the colour makes too much difference but its another one of those wee things that might make me feel like Im a bit closer to doing it right :)

Thanks guys , it seems that each of you have your own tastes, as I said I'm not really fussy but Maxima is the only one I have problems with, at the moment I'm using Snow bee magic line , clear, it worked last season , caboc mhor

I don't think it matters, but then again its a confidence thing. If it was that critical how come in days of yore people used gut and before that horse hair and still caught plenty fish.

Saying thay I'm a hypocrite I use the ultra expensive fluro

Cheers

Jim

Maxima sub green for me in 3 or 4 lb with floro for winter dub stuff. Never use floro for dries and sometimes opt for stroft for spooky troots
